Biography

Sally Hughes is the Assistant Director of Learning Design on the Teaching & Learning Innovation Team. She joined Texas A&M University in July 2022 as Manager of Instructional Design in the Office for Academic Innovation and then later the Mays Teaching and Learning Innovation Team.

Dr. Hughes is a dedicated instructional professional with over three decades of educational experience in K-12 districts, higher education, Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board, and in educational development. As a former teacher, consultant, instructional designer, and technology support professional, she is dedicated to developing the highest quality of digital learning experiences for students and collaborating to support the mission and vision of Mays Business School and the Teaching and Learning Innovation Team by designing and developing preeminent courses, leveraging current educational technology, and delivering engaging courses.

Sally earned a B.S. in Education from the University of Texas, a M.Ed. in Educational Technology from Texas A&M University, and an Ed.D. in Educational Leadership from Lamar University. Sally brings years of teaching, instructional design, course quality assurance and review, experience in program and project management, and technical support to this new role.

Her research interests include educational development, digital learning environments, user experience, adult learning, quality assurance in course development, and digital accessibility.
