Biography

Michael joined Mays Business School as an Instructional Designer for the Teaching & Learning Innovation Team in January 2024. He earned his BS from Florida State University, an MA from Azusa Pacific University, and he is currently working to complete a graduate certificate in Workplace Instructional Design from Boise State University (expected 2024). Michael has worked in higher education for 10 years and 4 years as a trainer in the corporate space.

In his role as an Instructional Designer, Michael is passionate about designing and developing high-quality courses to support the goals of Mays. He is interested in collaborating with faculty to promote engagement and interactivity in courses with students. He is also passionate about incorporating active learning through technology applications.

Before his role at A&M, he developed courses in Multiculturalism and Career and Profession at the university level. He also trained faculty on using digital learning tools in the classroom. His primary research interests are in students’ use of mobile-assisted language learning apps in the classroom. His research examines learners’ use of learning apps to study English as a second language.

Michael enjoys traveling during his free time. He has been to over 40 countries, including Mexico, Czech Republic, and Taiwan which are counted among his favorite so far. He would like to visit more in the future.
