The Adam C. Sinn ’00 Center for Investment Management currently offers two high-impact educational experiences, with additional experiences scheduled to be offered during the next academic year:

Student-Managed Investment Fund

The Center offers a $4 million student-managed fund, which is currently taking long-only positions in equities and electronic-traded funds (ETFs). The Center plans to diversify its investments into other asset classes and investment strategies, subject to appropriate approvals.

Applications for the student-managed fund will be accepted beginning in January 2024. Additional information will be unveiled when the application process opens.

European Investment Management Course and Field Trip

Students considering a career in investment management must understand financial markets from a global perspective. This course develops culturally adept and technically proficient professionals equipped to excel in the dynamic and competitive landscape of global asset management. The course’s comprehensive curriculum aims to provide a well-rounded understanding of the financial system, focusing on key players within the banking and investment management sectors. The course adopts a global perspective, emphasizing the roles of the United Kingdom, Switzerland, and the European Union.

The course offers a field trip that provides an unparalleled opportunity to gain insights into some of Western Europe’s most prestigious financial institutions. Students will understand how the European financial industry operates through visits to top investment banks, hedge funds, asset management firms, and governmental and non-governmental organizations. The Field Trip begins in Washington, DC, and continues to London, Brussels, Frankfurt, Zurich, and Paris.

A comprehensive grasp of global financial markets is indispensable for students considering a career in investment management. This course is carefully designed to develop future professionals who are both culturally astute and technically skilled, preparing them to thrive in the ever-evolving and competitive world of global asset management.
