About NRF Foundation Student Program

The National Retail Federation (NRF) is the world’s largest retail trade association, representing discount and department stores, home goods and specialty stores, Main Street merchants, grocers, wholesalers, chain restaurants and internet retailers from the United States and more then 45 countries.

Student Challenge 

Including a first place win in 2014, Texas A&M’s team has repeatedly placed at the NRF Student Challenge, a national business-case competition to showcase creativity and business savvy to bring a new product to market for a major retailer. Three rounds of executive judges evaluate each team and award scholarships based on the product’s strategy, financial feasibility and marketing plan.

The Next Generation Scholarship is considered the top achievement for undergraduates in retail. The award was created to prepare students for a career in retail and highlight the next generation of industry leaders. In 2020, LeAnn Percivill became the first student from Texas A&M to win the Next Generation Scholarship. The top recipient receives a $25,000 tuition scholarship, and four finalists receive $10,000 tuition scholarships.
