Retailing Competition: Fall 2024

The Center for Retailing Studies is excited to host the first-ever Retailing Competition on campus!

This is your chance to showcase your creative, analytical, and collaborative skills while solving real-world retail challenges. This year’s theme focuses on immersive technologies — your team will reimagine the future shopping experience while exploring how technologies like augmented reality, virtual reality, and AI can transform retail.

You’ll receive a prompt from our sponsor and work with your team to develop innovative solutions, presenting your findings to a panel of retail professionals.

Students can register individually and be assigned a team, or they can indicate their pre-selected team members upon registration. Team size can range from two to five individuals. Regardless of team status, every team member must register individually.

At the kickoff event, teams will receive the immersive retailing challenge for the competition. Over the following weeks, you’ll gather and analyze data, develop innovative ideas, and prepare your presentation. Teams will have an opportunity to meet with an advisor to refine their strategy.

On the final day, you’ll present your ideas to a panel of judges from the retailing industry, competing against other teams. The judges will select the winners later that day, with prizes and recognition to be awarded.

For students pursuing a Professional Distinction in Retailing, full participation in this competition will provide 100 points in the experience category and winners will receive an additional 25 points.

Registration Deadline is Wednesday, October 2, 2024.
