The Council for the Management of Information Systems (CMIS) at Texas A&M University’s Mays Business School is excited to announce the 2025 AI Conference, “Thriving in an AI World.” This event aims to bring together leading experts, academics, industry leaders, and innovators to explore how businesses, industries, and individuals can adapt and excel in a rapidly evolving artificial intelligence (AI) landscape.

Call for Presentations

We invite proposals for conference sessions that offer insights, case studies, and cutting-edge research on AI’s transformative potential and practical applications. We encourage submissions from a broad spectrum of topics related to AI, with an emphasis on how organizations and individuals can thrive amidst these disruptive technologies.

Sponsorships

Sponsorship provides funding to run the conference, which includes venue rental, food, materials, etc.

Gold Sponsorship: $5,000 to include named tracks at the conference and company logo on all printed materials, website, table tents, and signs throughout the venue. Silver Sponsorship: $2,500 to include sponsorship of breakfast and lunch and company logo on all printed materials, website, and signs throughout the venue.

Table sponsors: $1,000 for one table that seats eight. Sponsors can invite up to eight employees, or provide opportunities for MIS students to fill those seats for free. Table sponsors will get a graphic on their table and company logo on the conference website and printed materials.

Conference Tracks

We are seeking proposals that fit within, but are not limited to, the following suggested tracks:

  1. AI in Business Strategy & Operations
    How AI is reshaping strategic planning, decision-making, and operations. Case studies on successful AI-driven transformation initiatives are highly encouraged.
  2. Ethics, Governance, and Policy in an AI World
    Addressing ethical concerns, regulatory challenges, and governance models for responsible AI usage.
  3. The Future of Work in the Age of AI
    AI’s impact on jobs, skills development, and the workforce. How to prepare for shifts in labor demands and manage AI-human collaboration.
  4. AI-Driven Innovation and Entrepreneurship
    Success stories of AI-powered startups and innovations. Insights into how companies can foster AI-driven creativity and competitive advantage.
  5. AI and Data Privacy: Risks and Solutions
    Exploring the challenges of AI regarding data security, privacy, and risk management. Best practices for securing data in AI-driven environments.
  6. AI in Supply Chain Management and Logistics
    Case studies and insights into how AI is optimizing supply chain operations, enhancing visibility, and mitigating risks.
  7. Generative AI: Capabilities, Risks, and Future Directions
    Applications and implications of generative AI models in various industries, including healthcare, finance, and education.
  8. AI and Customer Experience (CX)
    Leveraging AI for enhanced customer interactions, personalized experiences, and predictive analytics.
  9. AI and Sustainability
    The role of AI in addressing global sustainability challenges, including energy efficiency, climate change, and resource management.
  10. AI Education and Training
    Preparing the workforce for AI adoption through education, upskilling, and lifelong learning initiatives.

Session Formats

We are looking for a variety of presentation formats to engage our diverse audience. When submitting your proposal, please indicate your preferred format from the following options:

  • Hands-on Workshop (1.5 hours): A practical, interactive session where participants can engage directly with AI tools, methodologies, or frameworks.
  • Presentations/Talks (45 minutes): A lecture-style session that focuses on case studies, research findings, or thought leadership.
  • Panel Discussion (45 minutes): A moderated conversation between multiple experts discussing key trends and challenges related to AI.

Submission Guidelines

  1. Proposal Content
    • Title of Presentation
    • Abstract (250-500 words): Provide an overview of the proposed topic, key takeaways, and relevance to the conference theme.
    • Session Format: Indicate if your presentation will be a keynote, panel discussion, workshop, case study, or research presentation.
    • Target Audience: Specify the intended audience (e.g., executives, IT professionals, academics, students).
    • Learning Objectives: Highlight the key learning points attendees will gain.
    • Speaker Bio(s): Include a brief bio of the speaker(s) highlighting relevant expertise and experience with the topic.
    • Technical Requirements: Note any specific AV or technological needs.
  2. Important Dates
    • Submission Deadline: November 15, 2024
    • Notification of Acceptance: December 15, 2024
    • Final Presentation Materials Due: January 31, 2025
  3. Evaluation Criteria
    Proposals will be reviewed based on the following criteria:

    • Relevance to the conference theme
    • Originality and innovation of the topic
    • Clarity and quality of the proposal
    • Practical application and value to attendees
    • Expertise and experience of the speaker(s)
