Biography
Cheryl is the Assistant to the Mays Business School, Associate Dean for Undergraduate Programs, Dr. Shannon Deer.
Cheryl began her career at Texas A&M University in March 2000, in the Department of Mathematics. She started as a Conference Coordinator. In March 2001, Cheryl began the position of Assistant to the Department Head. In May 2006, she moved from the Bryan-College Station area to Texarkana, TX. Cheryl returned to Texas A&M in 2008, where she held the Administrative Coordinator/Office Manager position for the Department of Mathematics. Cheryl has experience in Conference Coordinating, Accounts Receivable/Accounts Payable, Customer Service, Promotion and Tenure, DPR , creating and editing websites with Linux and HTML programs, Bi-Weekly Payroll/Workday, Department HR Liaison, Concur, Howdy, Astra, Department Faculty Hiring processes, Building Proctor, and much more.
She joined the Dean’s Office at Mays Business School, in March 2019. Joined Mays ClubWeb May 2019.
Cheryl helped coordinate the Lucky B Bison Festival. This festival raised funds that endowed the first Texas A&M Foundation Excellence Award for a Native American Student at Texas A&M! She also helps coordinate the Backing the Badge Event. This is an annual event that shows support for all the First Responders in Brazos County and the surrounding counties. She’s now a Board member of Operation Safe Shield. Operation Safe Shield is raising funds to provide bulletproof windshields for the Brazos Valley police officers, including Texas A&M officers.
Cheryl has three children and three grandchildren. Her daughter, Torey, is an AGGIE! Whoop! She is a Senior Clinical Stem Cell Specialist at MD Anderson. Her son, Tell, is a Research and Developer Engineer at Versacarry. Her youngest son, Trevor, unfortunately, is forever 19. He wanted to be a Counselor.
Cheryl’s favorite things are spending time with family, fishing, dancing, and singing.
