Biography

Dennis Moot is passionate about using technology to create innovative and compelling learning experiences.

In his 12-year career in higher education, Moot has worked in several capacities, from teaching and academic support to course planning and development. Moot has been vital in developing and implementing successful face-to-face, online, and hybrid programs at Texas A&M University, Ohio University, and West Virginia University. Moot collaborates with faculty, staff, and senior executive leaders to develop innovative for-credit, professional training, certificates, continuing education, and online programs. He has worked on projects across disciplines such as Nursing, Business, Education, Construction, and Health. He utilizes project management, communication, strategic development, and leadership skills to develop marketing, recruiting, enrollment management, and retention strategies for online programs to contribute to growth and success.

Moot is committed to ensuring faculty receive the necessary support, training, and insight to create engaging and effective online learning experiences. In addition, he has worked closely with University Colleges to provide accessible advising, tutoring, and writing enhancement services for all students, reflecting his commitment to creating a supportive and multifaceted online learning environment that meets the needs of students.

Moot is interested in continuous research on topics relating to instructional design, UX/UI, technology, pedagogy, and learning, which align closely with his professional work. With his extensive experience and expertise in online learning, instructional design, and program development, Moot aims to support Mays Business School in becoming a preeminent center of excellence in business education in the country.
