Mariah Torres

Biography

Mariah is an Academic Advisor at Mays Business School, where she currently advises lower-level business students, as well as those majoring in Management Information Systems and Supply Chain Management.

Mariah believes in a student-centered, developmental advising approach. She focuses on the individual needs and goals of each student, encouraging them to take an active role in their education. She is committed to ensuring that each student has the resources and information they need to succeed.

Before joining the Mays team, Mariah worked as a Medical Scribe, documenting doctor-patient interactions. This experience has been instrumental in developing her strong attention to detail.

A Rio Grande Valley native and first-generation college student, Mariah earned her degree from Texas A&M University. During her time there, she served as a Peer Mentor for other first-generation college students, helping them navigate their academic journeys.

When Mariah is not in her office helping students, she enjoys exploring state parks with her husband and three dogs.
