Biography
Michael Alexander is the Assistant Dean for Graduate Programs at Mays Business School and the Director of the Master of Science in Business Program at Texas A&M University. Before these roles, he served as the Director of the Professional MBA Program.
Mike is also a lecturer at Mays, with teaching responsibilities for BUAD 685, ‘Leadership and Professional Development,’ in the Professional MBA Program, several programs in the Center for Executive Development, and in the McFerrin Center for Entrepreneurship. Mike is often found wandering the halls looking for someone to participate in Appreciative Inquiry, 5 Dysfunctions of a Team, or reflective leadership.
Before joining Mays in March of 2012, Michael spent 20 years in the advertising industry in various roles, including production, operations, operations management, sales, marketing, sales management, and business development. From 2002 to 2012, Michael was a divisional Manager of Business Development for one of the largest cable broadband companies in the U.S. In that role, Michael managed multiple revenue streams and was responsible for several multimillion-dollar development projects for the firm.
Michael holds a B.A. and B.S. from Abilene Christian University and an MBA from Texas A&M (through the Executive MBA program).
Mike also serves his church, St. Joseph Catholic in Bryan, as a member of the Pastoral Council, the Alpha Continuation Team, and as a Lector and Adult Acolyte; is past President for the Board of Directors for Bryan/College Station Habitat for Humanity, and is a former member of the Board of Directors for Ablaze Ministries. Mike also serves on two industry boards: The BusinessCAS Advisory Board and the Executive MBA Council Board of Trustees, where he also serves as Treasurer.
Mike is currently in formation and discerning diaconal ministry in the Diocese of Austin in the Catholic Church.
Mike is originally from Longview, Texas.
He is married to Maggie (Konderla);
has a scrappy daughter – Savannah;
a steadfast son-in-law – Sergio;
two fantastic granddaughters – Adalyn and Aria;
a wonderfully amazing grandson – Noah Dean
