Instructional Designer II

Biography

Thelma Quardey Missedja is an Instructional Designer II at the Mays Business School. She earned her Ph.D. in Instructional Technology and a master’s degree in International Affairs from Ohio University.

She is passionate about leveraging her skills in instructional design, project management, and building relationships across and within teams to create meaningful learning experiences. Thelma approaches course design using sound pedagogical and learning theories and standard industry tools such as Articulate 360, Adobe Creative Cloud, Microsoft Applications, Project Management tools, and Camtasia.

Thelma’s research interests include instructional design and technologies, education and development (or underdevelopment), and international education. In line with this passion, Thelma researched the impact of instructional strategies used in an entrepreneurship clinic on its alums during her doctoral studies. She explored how entrepreneurship can be taught effectively to help students develop essential and transferable skills for their entrepreneurial pursuits. Thelma has made several conference presentations on education and the Global South. She has co-authored two articles and a book chapter and has two other research collaborations underway.
