Flex Online MS Accounting

The Flex Online MS Accounting program is a fully online Master’s of Accounting degree offered by Texas A&M University through the Mays Business School. Students log in to the Aggie Network, where they earn all the benefits awarded to our in-person master’s students. The program combines asynchronous and synchronous learning that give you the flexibility and autonomy of earning an MS Accounting degree from anywhere.

Tracks

This program offers two tracks of coursework; the Assurance Services/Information Management track and the Tax Consulting/Financial Planning track.

CPA Preparation and Examination:

Students complete accounting course work across a variety of accounting disciplines to prepare for a career as a CPA and learn concepts tested on all sections of the CPA exam, including the three core sections and the one discipline section of their choice. Our flexible program offers both an audit track and tax track to assist our students in preparing for the discipline specific section.

Flex Online MS Accounting students will have access to the Becker CPA Review Course questions as part of the program. Many students in the program can begin sitting for the CPA exam while completing their coursework.

CPA Requirements

In each state, a CPA certification is obtained through a state board. The certification requirements vary by state. Students are encouraged to understand the requirements in the state where they will be pursuing licensure. Common certification requirements include:

  1. Completing a certain number of credit hours in business and accounting courses
  2. Receiving a bachelor’s or master’s degree from an accredited institution
  3. Passing the uniform CPA exam
  4. Completing a minimum amount of work experience

The Flex Online MS Accounting program prepares students to become eligible to sit for the CPA exam by providing appropriate technical skills, knowledge, and credit hours.
