Humana-Mays Healthcare Analytics Case Competition
This competition offers an opportunity for teams of U.S. master’s students to showcase analytical skills while solving real-world business problems for Humana. Participants will dive into intricate real-world scenarios, navigating through large amounts of complex data. Success in this competition demands not only technical proficiency for data analysis but also communication skills to effectively convey insights, implications, and recommendations to non-technical audiences. Basic eligibility is for graduate students currently enrolled in a Master’s Program. Each team is comprised of 2-4 people. Your team must be registered to compete.

A total of $90,000 cash pot will be distributed among the top 5 teams as follows:
- 1st Place $50,000
- 2nd Place $20,000
- 3rd Place $10,000
- 4th Place $5,000
- 5th Place $5,000

2024 Competition Overview
This is the eighth year of the competition, which has grown to be one of the top healthcare analytics case competitions in the country. Over 950 master’s level students, representing 75 major universities in the U.S., registered for the national competition to compete for $90,000 in total prizes. The student team of Hope Odubena, Sakthiraj Kandasamy, and Susan Miracle from the University of Louisville received first place and the prize of $50,000. The Second-Place prize of $20,000 was awarded to Abiraami Balambikai, Mingze (Mitchell) Wu, Ahmed Farid Khan, and Yichen (Jessica) Tong from Boston University, while the Third-Place prize of $10,000 was presented to Sunanda Sen, Moumita Sen, Debanik Chakraborty, and Kusuma Lanka from Oklahoma State University. In addition to these prizes, teams from Georgia Institute of Technology and University of Houston both received Finalist Awards for $5,000 each.
2023 Competition Overview
This is the seventh year of the competition, which has grown to be one of the top healthcare analytics case competitions in the country. Over 750 master’s level students, representing 75 major universities in the U.S., registered for the national competition to compete for $90,000 in total prizes. The student team of Edward Raff, Natalie Howell, Pulak Jain, and Nicholas Graham from Syracuse University received first place and the prize of $50,000. The Second-Place prize of $20,000 was awarded to Taylor Boles, and Geet Raval from Texas A&M University, while the Third-Place prize of $10,000 was presented to Asif Syed, Landrie Alsobrook, Shubhi Gupta, and Ranjith Kumar Kuppu Rathinam from Oklahoma State University. In addition to these prizes, teams from Oklahoma State University and Boston University both received Finalist Awards for $5,000 each.
