Hazlewood Exemption (Texas Veterans)

M.S. Analytics students eligible for the Hazlewood Exemption are able to apply the benefit towards the cost of the M.S. Analytics program.  The Hazlewood Exemption will cover all of the program costs with the exception of the following components included in in the program costs:

  • Books and Computers (purchased by the university and provided to the students)
  • Meals (while traveling or provided at CityCentre)
  • Student Travel (Residency Week)
  • Student Lodging (Residency Week)

Students can expect to be charged for and will need to pay approximately 15% of the total program costs to cover the cost of the above exceptions to the Hazlewood Exemption.  Financial Aid may be used to cover these costs.

 VA Chapter 33 – Post 9/11 GI Bill

Recipients of VA Chapter 33 – Post 9/11 GI Bill Benefits may qualify to receive payment of tuition and fees, a monthly housing allowance and a book stipend.  The VA will pay tuition and fees to the University.  The VA will not pay for non-allowable fees which are listed below.  Students will be directly billed for non-allowable costs.

  • Books (purchased by the university and provided to the students)
  • Meals (while traveling or provided at CityCentre)
  • Student Travel (Residency Week)
  • Student Lodging (Residency Week)

These non-allowable costs are covered by the monthly stipend Veterans receive while using the Post 9/11 benefit.  Students can expect to be charged for and will need to pay approximately 15% of the total program cost to cover the cost of the above exceptions.  Financial Aid may also be used to cover these costs.
