PPA Awards Nomination Form
Submit Nominations for PPA Awards!
The James Benjamin Department of Accounting and the Professional Program in Accounting (PPA) initiated a formal recognition program in 2015 for outstanding PPA graduates. Two awards, an Outstanding Alumnus Award and a Rising Star Award, will be given annually based on the following criteria:
– The Outstanding Alumnus/Alumna Award will recognize outstanding contributions to the accounting profession, business community, and/or society at large. The recipient of this award will be a Professional Program graduate whose collective body of work has resulted in a substantial incremental change in the business community, the accounting profession, and/or the lives of those who practice accounting.
– The Rising Star Award will recognize a recent Professional Program graduate (one who has graduated within the prior 12 years) who is making a substantial impact on society through business acumen, exceptional leadership, or entrepreneurial success. The ideal nominee for the Rising Star Award will have exhibited evidence of an impact on business or society at a level that would be considered exceptional by peers in light of the length of service.
Self-nominations are permitted. A committee appointed by the Department Head and chaired by the Director of the Professional Program will make recommendations for recipients of the awards. The recipients will be honored at an event in College Station, and will also be recognized on the display located outside the Department of Accounting offices on the 4th floor of Wehner.
