Undergraduate and Graduate
AI Competitions
Undergraduate students from all majors across the nation can submit their business plans for a chance to compete in a pitch competition focused on AI-related new ventures. This competition will recognize and celebrate entrepreneurship among students and will identify top student founders whose businesses are leveraging artificial intelligence to change the world.
The AI Dissertation Proposal Competition invites doctoral students from around the country to submit their dissertation research related to AI across the fields of accounting, finance, information systems and supply chain, management, and marketing. This competition will recognize and celebrate cutting-edge insights related to AI and business from top young scientists in each field.

Meet the Assistant Dean for AI
Arnold Castro ’17 ’22 brings over 25 years of emerging technology leadership experience to Texas A&M, combining deep expertise in artificial intelligence, machine learning, and data analytics with a proven track record of driving innovation and organizational transformation. A graduate of Mays Business School’s MBA and Master of Science in Analytics programs, Castro previously served as the chief data & technology officer at MFG Analytic, where he helped guide organizations worldwide through their AI adoption journey. He also served as an Airborne Combat Engineer in the US Army.
As Mays’ first assistant dean for AI, Castro will lead the institution’s comprehensive AI initiatives, overseeing our two competitions and the development of an AI and Business minor and a Flex Online AI and Business certificate program.
