Celebrate cutting-edge AI in business insights from top doctoral candidates at the Building a Better Future Through Business and AI Dissertation Proposal Competition Presentations on Oct. 17. Finalists from across the country, representing the fields of finance, information systems, marketing, and supply chain, will present findings that push theoretical boundaries and create new possibilities for business applications.

Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Business Minor

A new minor titled “Artificial Intelligence in Business” launched in Fall 2025. Open to all majors across Texas A&M, the program equips students with cutting-edge AI and machine learning skills essential for modern business leadership. The minor features five specialized courses taught by leading AI faculty at Mays, with curriculum focused on generative AI, business storytelling, machine learning, multimodal AI agents, and deep learning applications. The courses will be taught fully online in eight-week sessions. To qualify, students must have completed at least 12 credit hours as a Texas A&M student with a 3.0 or better overall GPA.

Flex Online Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Business Program

The Flex Online AI in Business Program provides applicants with in-demand AI skills to prepare them for a future in business leadership utilizing AI and machine learning (ML). The program offers courses exploring future-focused concepts, such as generative AI, business storytelling, machine learning, multimodal agents, and deep learning applications to equip professionals to harness the power of AI in the workplace. The program is open to any professional looking to expand their expertise in the field of AI. All courses will be fully delivered online in an eight-week format.

Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Business Minor

Meet the Assistant Dean for AI

Arnold Castro ’17 ’22 brings over 25 years of emerging technology leadership experience to Texas A&M, combining deep expertise in artificial intelligence, machine learning, and data analytics with a proven track record of driving innovation and organizational transformation. A graduate of Mays Business School’s MBA and Master of Science in Analytics programs, Castro previously served as the chief data & technology officer at MFG Analytic, where he helped guide organizations worldwide through their AI adoption journey. He also served as an Airborne Combat Engineer in the US Army.

As Mays’ first assistant dean for AI, Castro will lead the institution’s comprehensive AI initiatives, overseeing our two competitions and the development of an AI in Business minor and a Flex Online AI in Business program.
