National Retail Federation

The National Retail Federation (NRF) is the world’s largest retail trade association, representing discount and department stores, home goods and specialty stores, Main Street merchants, grocers, wholesalers, chain restaurants and Internet retails from the United States and more then 45 countries.

Retail is the nation’s largest private sector employer, supporting one in four U.S. jobs – 42 million working Americans.

NRF’s This is Retail campaign highlights the industry’s opportunities for life-long careers, how retailers strengthen communities, and the critical role that retail plays in driving innovation.

The conversations, sessions and technologies at Retail’s Digital Summit will open your eyes to new tactics that take marketing, branding, social, mobile, and conversation to a whole new level.

The Student Program will provide students the opportunity to hear tech talks and see demos from leading companies. Past participants have included Facebook, Kendra Scott, Nike,, Pier 1 Imports, PetSmart, Target and more.

Including a first place win in 2014, Texas A&M’s team has repeatedly placed at the NRF Student Challenge, a national business-case competition to showcase creativity and business savvy to bring a new product to market for a major retailer. Three rounds of executive judges evaluate each team and award scholarships based on the product’s strategy, financial feasibility and marketing plan.
