Reliant Trading Center
Hands-on experience is, without a doubt, one of the best ways to prepare students for their future careers. The Reliant Energy Securities & Commodities Trading Center (RTC) gives Mays students such an opportunity.
The RTC provides our business students with a unique learning opportunity – to experience the financial world first hand in an interactive environment. Students may also complete the necessary requirements to earn Bloomberg Certification. For more information, stop by the center and visit with a RTC student worker when classes are not in session.
About
The RTC was established in 2000 thanks to the generous support of Reliant Energy, and fully renovated and expanded in 2017.
As part of the Department of Finance, the center gives Mays business students access to analytical tools and volumes of real-time and historical financial data. Students also make use of the RTC to manage the Tanner Fund, a student-run portfolio established by Jamey S. and Richard C. Tanner ’53, Technical Analysis, Trade Floor Dynamics, the first course that Trading, Risk & Investments (TRIP) students would be required to take.
Other business classes may request use of the center through Dr. Detlef Hallermann.
