Business Intelligence & Analytics Certificate

Do you have an inquisitive interest in databases, data cultivation, and extracting hidden information? Students pursuing this certificate should have a base interest in programming and data management, as well as some technical background and an interest in statistical applications. Advanced coursework in calculus, statistics, and computing is strongly recommended.

To complete the certificate in Business Intelligence & Analytics, students must successfully complete two required courses (6 credit hours) and two elective courses (6 credit hours).

Application Details

Similar to applying to graduate with a degree, a student must also apply to graduate with a certificate. This is done by submitting a graduation application for the certificate via Howdy. Certificates are awarded in May, August, and December, and will be mailed directly to the student. There is no fee associated with the awarding of a certificate.

Students can also request to have certificates removed from their degree by contacting their academic advisor.

Completing a Certificate

The courses included in certificates are not offered every semester. Students should allow multiple semesters to complete all of the certificate requirements. If you wish to pursue one of these certificates, please contact Veronica Stilley to request to have the certificate added to your curriculum no later than the semester before the certificate requirements will be completed.

Non-business students will need assistance registering for courses within Mays Business School. To request enrollment in one of these certificate courses, non-business students should submit a wait list request. Note in the comments area of the request that the certificate is being pursued.
