Cybersecurity Management Certificate

Are you interested in honing your skills in the area of cybersecurity? With academic courses at the intersection of business and technical expertise, students will understand the challenges of computer network security while ensuring the confidentiality, availability, and integrity of data. Further, they will be able to integrate policy, best practices, and strategies to address a broad range of challenges and threats, while balancing the development of a security environment that is usable, yet secure.

Program Overview

To complete the certificate in Cybersecurity Management, students must successfully complete three required courses (9 credit hours) and one elective course (3 credit hours). ISTM 635 is a prerequisite for the other two required courses.

Application Details

Similar to applying to graduate with a degree, a student must also apply to graduate with a certificate. This is done by submitting a graduation application for the certificate via Howdy. Certificates are awarded in May, August, and December, and will be mailed directly to the student. There is no fee associated with the awarding of a certificate.

Students can also request to have certificates removed from their degree by contacting their academic advisor.

Completing a Certificate

The courses included in certificates are not offered every semester. Students should allow multiple semesters to complete all of the certificate requirements. If you wish to pursue one of these certificates, please contact Veronica Stilley to request to have the certificate added to your curriculum no later than the semester before the certificate requirements will be completed.

Non-business students will need assistance registering for courses within Mays Business School. To request enrollment in one of these certificate courses, non-business students should submit a wait list request. Note in the comments area of the request that the certificate is being pursued.
