Biography

John was best known as the Managing Director at Deloitte Consulting where he co-founded their Customer Experience Practice before his retirement from the firm.  His mission in that role was to help marketers compete and win on customer experience across all communications channels leveraging data, analytics and technology to enable success.  Major clients included companies from the consumer electronics, software, professional sports and the life sciences industries.

A first of its kind, this practice became proficient in building customer data platforms (CDPs) in the client’s cloud provider of choice, integrating advertising and marketing technologies to the client’s CDP and experimenting with machine learning to optimize analytics for better marketing outcomes.

John started his career at fast moving consumer packaged goods companies John & Johnson and then Pepsi.  From those organizations, John moved into leadership roles in customer centric marketing companies like Valassis, Equifax, DoubleClick, PRIMIS Marketing, Monetate and eBay.

His alma maters include the University of Hartford where he received his MBA and Bryant University where he earned a Bachelors of Science degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Management.

John has been associated with the Mays School of Business since 2023 teaching at the graduate level in the MS of Marketing program.  His area of expertise is Consulting.

Additionally John is on the Board of Advisors for two different start-ups, all in the marketing technology and services space.  And when not teaching at Texas A&M or advising start-ups, you can typically find John on the tennis court, skiing in Colorado or boating the lakes of Connecticut.
