Biography
John Schomburger is a fifth-year Ph.D. candidate in the James Benjamin Department of Accounting at Mays Business School, and he expects to complete his degree in the spring of 2025. His research interests are in standard setting, regulation, and earnings management.
John is a licensed CPA in Texas. He started his career at the Financial Accounting Standards Board as a Postgraduate Technical Assistant on the research staff. Following his work at the FASB, John joined Ernst & Young’s Financial Accounting Advisory Services group as a Senior Associate. He received a Master of Financial Management and a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting and Business Honors from Texas A&M University.
