Biography
As Director, Misty serves as professor for FINC 601, Financial Analysis Practicum. This course serves as a career development course for students enrolled in the MSF and MSQF Programs, with an intense focus on soft skills, CFA topics and networking with finance industry professionals. The majority of students in the program are current STEM, mostly engineers and also business/economics majors who seek to supplement their technical education with an advanced understanding of accounting, finance and analytics. These topics combined with extensive career coaching lead to students having a bridge from their undergraduate degree to financial services, consulting, corporate finance or management rotational development roles.
Misty is passionate about her students having career success in their chosen industry. As Director, she oversees a nearly 40 company corporate advisory board who employee approximately one-half of her students annually, due to the extensive career prep received in the program. The other half receive jobs and internships from other major employers in the student’s chosen field.
In addition to her professional career, Misty has served as advisor for the Aggie Investment Club (AIC) since 2021, and served in several leadership positions for the Bryan/College Station Charter Chapter of American Business Women’s Association (ABWA). She was a graduate of the Texas A&M Leadership Institute in 2013. Prior to joining Texas A&M, she was a registered investment advisor from 2000-2006.
