Biography

Patricia recently joined the James Benjamin Department of Accounting as an Executive Professor. Her focus areas include graduate-level courses in data analytics and corporate taxation.

Prior to joining Texas A&M, Patricia was a partner with EY and retired after more than 30 years of service. She worked with multinational corporations to achieve transformation of their tax and finance functions through technology, process and data improvements and talent optimization. She has in-depth expertise with the entire tax operating model: tax operations, tax automation, tax provision and compliance process redesign, tax internal controls and tax organizational design. As an engagement partner, Patricia provided tax provision, compliance and consulting services to clients in the consumer products, energy, financial services, manufacturing, professional services, real estate and technology sectors. Patricia also led EY’s Tax Technology and Transformation practice in the southwest region. She was a member of the core team that built the tax technology, tax operations and global tax reporting practices at EY, and she served as the National Technology Advisor for EY’s global compliance and reporting practice, evaluating and selecting the tax compliance and provision tools used by EY on its tax compliance, tax provision and outsourcing engagements.

During her EY career, Patricia served as a guest lecturer on technology, data analytics and information systems at Texas A&M University, University of Houston and University of Texas. She was a frequent speaker at Tax Executives Institute, Thomson Reuters and Corptax conferences, and internal EY conferences and webcasts.

Patricia is a Certified Public Accountant licensed in the state of Texas. She is a graduate of Texas A&M with a BBA in Accounting and Finance, and Master of Science in Accounting.
