Biography

Philippe Hercot has over 20 years of experience in the investment banking and private equity industries both in the United States and in Europe. He acted as an investment banker on Wall Street, co-founded an investment company targeting hands-on, control investments of small and mid-sized French companies, led a French industrial portfolio company as its CEO, acted as a consultant to a wide array of companies, as well as invested in niche private equity funds as Partner of a global investment company. He holds an MBA from Harvard Business School as well as a Master in Management Grande Ecole from HEC Paris.

In late 2015, Mr. Hercot joined the Mays Business School at Texas A&M University as an Executive Professor in the Department of Finance. In summer 2016, he was appointed Director of Aggies on Wall Street, a high impact program of the Department of Finance that provides high-achieving students with superior access to opportunities in the very competitive investment banking and private equity industries.

Mr. Hercot teaches corporate finance, financial modeling, private equity and entrepreneurship courses to undergraduate and graduate students. He also teaches a seminar in investment banking dedicated to his Aggies on Wall Street students and gives selected program students exposure to major Wall Street firms and professionals as part of an annual intensive trip to New York.

Mr. Hercot was awarded the 2019 Association of Former Students’ Distinguished Achievement College Level Award as well as one of six 2018/19 university-wide “Aggies Celebrate Teaching!” awards by Texas A&M’s Center for Teaching Excellence for “adding value to students’ lives, inspiring them and helping them transform their perspective.”
