Biography
Rochelle Read serves as the Program Manager of the MS programs in Human Resource Management (MS-HRM). She has worked in academia for over twenty years and has a passion for creating and fostering working relationships with students to help them succeed academically and translate that success into their own personal and professional advancement. Among many other things, her role includes the management of recruiting and admissions for the MS-HRM programs.
Before joining Mays Business School, Rochelle served as an academic advisor for the Department of Economics in the College of Liberal Arts & Sciences at Texas A&M. Prior to re-joining Texas A&M in 2016, Rochelle supported students with disabilities at both Pepperdine University in Malibu, CA, and Tarrant County College in Arlington, TX. Her first role after graduating from Texas A&M was working in TAMU’s International Programs Office (IPO) as the Assistant to the Assistant Provost then she transitioned to the Qatar Support Office (QSO) where she coordinated the logistics, visas, and all travel arrangements for faculty, staff, university administration, and dignitaries forging the Texas A&M University at Qatar campus (TAMUQ).
Rochelle serves as the Texas A&M chapter advisor for her sorority, Alpha Delta Pi, is a first-year seminar instructor, and volunteers for the Central Texas Ronald McDonald House. She previously served as secretary and then parliamentarian for TAMU’s University Advisors and Counselors (UAC) organization. She was a recipient of the Texas A&M International Programs Star Staff Award in 2005 and the College of Liberal Arts Superior Service (CLASS) Award in 2021. She is a member of the National Academic Advising Association (NACADA).
Rochelle is a first-gen college student and earned a BA in Speech Communication from Texas A&M University.
