Petroleum Ventures Program

The Petroleum Ventures Program (PVP) Certificate sets Mays finance majors apart by giving them unparalleled exposure to entrepreneurship, energy industry leaders and case-based learning opportunities. Finance students interested in pursuing a finance career in the energy industry are exposed to a series of high-level Petroleum Engineering courses with a focus on real world application of finance and energy industry concepts.

The PVP Certificate is designed to give Finance students and Petroleum Engineering students an edge when entering energy industries. A collaboration between the Department of Finance and the Department of Petroleum Engineering, the PVP certificate student is perfect for students who have a desire to work in energy finance, petroleum acquisition or divestiture fields.

Students in the PVP program have opportunities to network with PVP board members and other energy professionals, access to curated courses, professional development opportunities, and a more marketable resume.

Students must apply and be accepted to program to begin the coursework. All program requirements must be completed prior to graduation.
