MBA Venture Challenge
The MBA Venture Challenge requires teams of MBA students to evaluate the commercial viability of start-up firms. The challenge is a required part of the MBA program and is scheduled during the spring semester of students’ first year.
- MBA students spend two weeks researching and analyzing a start-up company before delivering an elevator pitch and a “due diligence” presentation. The challenge helps students learn a new topic quickly, organize their work, engage in teamwork, and apply classroom learning in a real world setting.
- Judges from the business and academic community assess teams on their presentations. Evaluation criteria include whether the team made a clear, unbiased and business-oriented evaluation of the firm’s market and financial viability.
- Teams compete for more than $6,000 in prize money.
