will return in the fall!
Many thanks to our students and participating companies for another successful event!
A little about our event…. We start with heavy hors d’oeuvres and networking from 5:30 – 6:00pm. There are 13 participating companies. Before the event, students will be given a brief write-up about each company, and companies will be given an electronic resume book. Most participating students are juniors or seniors. Each company has a designated table, and we divide the students into groups of 3 with each group starting at a different company/table. Each round is 5 minutes. When students are at a table, we encourage the company to take their two minutes to tell students something about their company that they would not readily see on the internet (i.e. the company philanthropy project, an example of a team building exercise, where a management team meets off-site for strategic planning, etc.) Each student will have one minute to mention a little about themselves (their one-minute elevator pitch.) Students…your one-minute elevator pitch should consist of 1. identify your goal, 2. explain what you do, 3. communicate your unique selling proposition (USP), 4. engage with a question & 5. put it all together. At four minutes, a one minute warning is given. At five minutes, students get up and move to the next table.
Speed dating, only….not!
